About Taiwan Youth for Democracy in Asia... The spirit of Taiwan Youth for Democracy in Asia (TYDA) arises from the second Young Volunteers’ Camp hold by Taiwan Foundation of Democracy (TFD) in August 2005. With identical ideas and interests in democracy, these young people keep contact with one another after the camp and participate in many activities held by the TFD, such as World Forum for Democratization in Asia. In September 2005, TYDA, advised by TFD, becomes an organization composed of young people from all over Taiwan. The goal of TYDA is to consolidate Taiwan’s democratic achievement and to promote democracy to all Asian countries. Well-known known for its peaceful transition to democracy, Taiwan is a model for other Asian democratic nations. TYDA holds many activities related to democracy and human rights. Though a young organization, we believe that through our efforts, devotion and networking with other organization through Asia, we will help facilitating the spreading of democracy throughout Asia.
