The 6th Asia Democracy and Human Right Award Ceremony
Taiwan Foundation for Democracy held the annual award ceremony of Asian Democracy and Human Rights Award this morning on December 10th at Far East Plaza Hotel Taipei; and the winner of this year’s award goes to Boat People SOS of US, which dedicates its work on fighting human trafficking, on assisting asylum seekers to resettle their lives in various countries as well as on culturing Asian immigrants for their pursuit of liberty and human rights. President Ma Ying-Jeou was invited to offer the award sculpture to Dr. Nguyen Dinh Thang, the Executive Director of Boat People SOS; and the Legislative Yuan Speaker Wang Jin-Pyng, also the Chairman of Taiwan Foundation for Democracy, provided the award grant of 100,000 US Dollars to Dr. Thang, validating the remarkable performance of Boat People SOS.
