2017 Asia Democracy and Human Rights Award Ceremony
The Taiwan Foundation for Democracy hosted the 12th Asia Democracy and Human Rights Award ceremony on December 10th, 2017, which was also the International Human Rights Day, at the Taipei Guest House. Bersih 2.0, led by its Chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah, came to Taipei to receive the award.

Bersih 2.0 Receives the 2017 Asia Democracy and Human Rights Award
The Taiwan Foundation for Democracy (TFD) held a press conference at the briefing room in Legislative Yuan. TFD Chairman Su Jia-chyuan announced the 2017 Asia Democracy and Human Rights Award (ADHRA) will be awarded to Bersih 2.0. Bersih 2.0 is a regional organization working on the reform of transparent and fair election, with its headquarters in Malaysia.
At the press conference, President Szu-chien Hsu introduced the background of ADHRA and its review process this year. Chairman Su, in his speech, mentioned that Taiwan has experienced many difficulties from the transition of democracy, so Taiwanese people realize that only fair electoral system could realize the practice of democracy.
The Taiwan Foundation for Democracy will host the 12th Asia Democracy and Human Rights Award ceremony on December 10th, 2017, International Human Rights Day. The Bersih 2.0, led by its Chairperson, will come to Taipei to receive the award.
